Free craft event on Tuesdays for adults and children. Lovely older world cafeteria. Love coming here all year round.

Truly excellent. Well worth the 45 minute walk out of Turku (there is a bus that stops just outside). Most of the buildings are in their original places - they have been filled well to help recreate a rural farming environment in the 1950s. The staff were really helpful, particularly the young lady on the main desk. They clearly have a passion for what they do. If you only have time for one museum when in Turku, then this is it.

This museum was unexpectedly excellent! The info building has a small workshop where kids can build their own shoe remover out of wood and hand tools. There are also craftsmen and women who make things and are available to answer questions. The children really liked the children's playhouse and there was a cafe which served delicious pastries. We were too late for lunch, which ended at 1400, but it smelled good. It was really nostalgic seeing all the different things that they used to use on the farm. We thoroughly enjoyed this and recommend it! It's hard to believe it was free!

Good change of pace from Downtown Turku. Recommend biking to and from there along the Aura river.

This is an open air museum (and it's free!). It is about 5km from the city center. It's small, but a nice place to visit. If you're only in Turku for a short time, I wouldn't say this is a must see, but if you have a little extra time, it's worth the visit.
