Great experience, good for several hours. Self guide very clearly spoken, all information available in various languages. Experience of many levels: the building itself, the history, clothes, furniture, even the coffee shop were really well executed. Not cheap but well worth it

A vast castle tour, longer than you would anticipate. Very cool, albeit fairly simplistic. Function over form, but still great. Kids tours are a welcome addition and the staff gets dressed up! The castle participates in the medieval festival as well and your kids can get in on the action!

Turunlinna (Turku castle) is a must-see! Not only are there highly detailed museum exhibits from how the castle was built to the history of Turku to the old coinage system, there are beautifully maintained rooms showcasing how the castle’s interior design might be like and even a section for you to try on medieval costumes! Although it says people spend 2 hours here on average, to see the whole thing properly, you would need at least 4 hours or 3 even if you don’t read everything in the museum.

Thus was probably the best museum, and best castle (self guided) tour I've ever taken. The displays are very nicely done, the castle is wonderfully restored, and you get to walk through almost all of it. Nicely laid out and lots of stairs to keep you guessing on tour journey through the jail, church, chapel, and even a room where you can try on some of the clothes and sit on a thrown from the era.

Best castle and palace combo I've been in. Large portions of the castle are as they were from the earliest period of the castle. Other portions are decorated and improved to a condition from much later periods. Most castles are just big empty hulks with nothing inside. It was a treat to see the parts that had been turned into a palace. We were there for 2.5 hours, and I wish I had set aside much more time for this one, maybe double that.
